    The Aston Martin Residences in Downtown Miami

    Another luxury brand is making it debate in Miami real estate. Aston Martin, the high-end Brittish sports car company is partnering with the Coto family of Argentina to launch Aston Martin Residences on the former Epic East site at 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way.

    Revuelta Architecture and Bodas Mian Anger are the architects of the sail-shaped building, a 66-story, 390-unit high-rise at the mouth of the Miami River. Aston Martin’s design team, led by chief creative officer Marek Reichman, will design the interior spaces for the building, set to break ground next summer and open in 2021. The car company’s branding will touch door handles, leather, color palettes and the building’s common areas and amenities, including lobbies, fitness centers and a spa, down to the stitching, Reichman said.

    The project plans to have two private lobbies, a two-story fitness center with a spa, an infinity pool on the 55th floor, a screening room, British club, and a yacht marina, according to a press release. Reichman joked the screening room would only play James Bond films.

    Units will range from one- to four-bedrooms, as well as seven penthouses and a duplex penthouse with private pools and terraces.

    Condo prices are expected to be in the market range for luxury homes in downtown Miami, and particular details about the units will be unveiled in the spring.


    “We need to give buyers a unique experience,” Coto said through a translator. “That’s why we thought about Aston Martin, because we’re talking about luxury, we’re talking about authenticity.”

    Katia Bassi, managing director of Aston Martin’s brands division revealed that the interior spaces and the building will share a common element with Aston Martin cars: the Fibonacci series. The company will draw on the natural integer sequence to come up with proportions for their for the designs in the building. Aston Martin has used the Fibonacci series, for example, to balance the exterior proportions of the various parts of its sports cars.

    The apartments will also emphasize craftsmanship and fine materials, such as tan leather door tabs and artisan-made handles, in keeping with the brand’s general philosophy.
