Coconut Grove welcomes Boutique Hotel Brand Mr C!
Venice, Beverly Hills, NYC and now…. Coconut Grove. The Ciprianis are coming to the Grove! The brand new 5 star hotel under construction in Coconut Grove will be operated by the Cipriani family’s boutique hotel brand; Mr. C. The hotel just announced that the property is officially accepting guest reservations for its Spring 2019 opening.
Under construction since last year, the project is being developed by the Fort family and Arquitectonica founding principal Bernardo Fort-Brescia. It is located on a narrow lot next to the group’s renovation of the historic Engle Building at the southeast corner of McFarlane Road and Main Highway.
The Coconut Grove Grapevine reported that the hotel draws inspiration from Italy’s coast and has a nautical feel and look. Many locals say it looks like a cruise ship.
According to their brochure, “The interior design includes high gloss timber paneling, leather-upholstered blue and caramel headboards, nautical style dressers, playful and comfortable sofas and armchairs in a range of soft and airy blue, and white and pink fabrics throughout the space.”
In addition to its 100 guest rooms and suites with private outdoor terraces, the new hotel also features the Bellini Restaurant and Bar, on the hotel’s top floor. The restaurant will have a new Italian dining concept inspired by Ignazio and Maggio Cipriani’s travels throughout Italy, and offers indoor and outdoor seating that exudes coastal Italy.

The Grove indeed is iconic and is transforming its core into a cozy village center. Together with the Coconut Walk, which is currently under construction, Mr C will ensure more dining and entertainment options for Grovites.
