Lighthouse Point is a very private and exclusive community in South Florida.  Named for the famous Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, which is one of the oldest functioning lighthouses on the east coast (1906). This boutique community offers 5700 residences and is home to a population of 11,278 inhabitants. Lighthouse Point offers pre-dominantly single-family homes (80%). Many of these homes are located on the city’s 18 miles of waterways. 95% of the city is developed and most homes fall into the upper-medium and top-price range.

 

The Lighthouse Point Lifestyle

 

Lighthouse Point is ideal for boaters with a large boating community and ocean access in 15 minutes. The community’s very own yacht club, Lighthouse Point Yacht club is held in high regard by yachtsman and boating enthusiasts. The Club’s marina accommodates sport fishing craft and yachts from 30 to 120 feet with 30-, 50-, and 100-amp service on a year-round or seasonal basis. Complementing the full-service facilities is an attentive dockside staff ready to meet your power boating and sport fishing needs. The Lighthouse Point Tennis Center  boasts 10 perfectly maintained har-try courts including three lighted courts for your evening tennis enjoyment. The facility is an 2021 USTA Outstanding Facility Award winner.

For those that want to go out for a bite, the community offers, the Nauti Dawg restaurant, which is located at the marina on the water. Al Fresco dining at its best! Another local favorite is Cap’s Place Island Restaurant. For over 85 years Cap’s Place has been known for fresh native seafood and there famous hearts of palm salad, recognized as a national landmark Cap’s is Broward County, Florida’s oldest restaurant. Among some of the notables who have enjoyed Cap’s creative cuisine are  Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, the Vanderbilts, the Rockefellers, Al Capone, Meyer Lansky, Casey Stengel, George Harrison, Errol Flynn, the Temptations, Susan Hayward, Gloria Swanson, Mariah Carey, “Norm” from TV’s Cheers and Joe Namath.   Cap’s has hosted the famous and infamous for decades.

There are several Private clubs nearby such as The Boca Raton Resort and Club, Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club and The Hillsboro Club

Finally the Lighthouse Point Community is known for its nature. The area offers approximately 20 acres of parks and mini-parks and 13 miles of sidewalks/bike paths symbolize the nature of community life.

 

Safety

 

Lighthouse Point is also known for its extreme safety. It has its own police force that checked on your property once a day while you are away on vacation. The community also has security cameras installed at all roads in and out of the town. There is a new fire station under construction with state-of-the-art equipment used for all fire, rescue and paramedics on site.

 

Schools

 

For families looking at Lighthouse Point it is important to mention that there are several Private Schools nearby. Some of the schools are: North Broward Preparatory School, Pine Crest School and St Andrews School.
